Dennis sent me this fabulous picture he took on a tour of the rainforest yesterday. He says this ant is the size of his thumb. I'll post more pictures when he sends them. I'd be jealous, butants the size of a man's thumb?! No thanks.
Oooh, fire ants. Ouch. Are they a big problem there?
I'm living vicariously through Dennis - I'd never be brave enough to travel someplace like Costa Rica (not to mention I don't fly, which would be problematic).
Well, they ARE very interesting and kind of cool from a distance (like say, in a picture). We just don't want to see them up close, right? Flying roaches...*shudder*,,,

oh, i bet they've got those huge flying roaches, too! sorry, i forgot: palmetto bugs as they say in FLA.
