Emma News

Today is the final day of Emma's fundraiser for school. So far, she's done pretty good even though my mom, one of her aunts, and Dennis and I are the only ones who've bought anything (we bought a lot!). This fundraiser is specifically to help the school purchase new computers and software.

Today is also Emma's first day of Girl Scouts and she couldn't be more excited. Even though I was never a Girl Scout (way too shy), I'm delighted that Emma is interested in it. I think it's going to be great for her!

Why can't we just fund public schools adequately? Fundraisers, bah. I love that old bumper sticker about having the military hold a bake sale to buy a bomb.

That's a great picture. Congrats on the lost tooth. Olivia liked Girl Scouts last year, but now we have her in drama, dance and violin, none of which she wants to give up - sooooo - no GS.

Anne - I feel the same way about fundraisers. Or at least they could just ask for donations instead of making us sell stuff to our friends and family. I hated it as a kid and I hate it now.

Emma just lost the matching tooth on the right last week, so now she's got two gaps in the bottom (and loves it!). And the two upper middles are loose. This year might be the time for her to sing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth".

Wow, sounds like Olivia is as busy as Emma. We've got gymnastics, Girl Scouts, and basketball, with art and swim lessons starting next month. All at Emma's insistence, of course. She's more adept at handling school this year, too, which helps.

Thanks for stopping by - I love hearing from you!

What a sweetie, she is. The Girl Scouts might end up being a passing fancy, but she might like the girl's only aspect of it. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks Patti! I'm just glad she's willing to give lots of different things a try. The girl does love her activities!

Patry, you have no idea how often I hear that! People are always telling me how much Emma looks just like a little doll. She has an American Girl Samantha doll and they could be twins (it's a little scary, really). Thanks for stopping by!
