sharon - we had one day like that just before new year's - the park looked like the realm of some ice queen, so beautiful. as if the trees and bushes had been born white. *S*
but our winter is strange - we have had temperatures from 46-61F lately - way, way too warm. it should be something like 14-32F, or colder. i am not complaining about the lack of snow, i don't like it in the city, and i am not a fan of extreme cold, but this is not normal - and giving me headaches. but i enjoyed sitting outside the belvedere palace on saturday afternoon, staring back at these sphinxes.

Oooh Michi, I LOVE those sphinxes! It must be wonderful to live in a city with so much history and rich heritage.
I took that picture the week before Christmas and it was really strange, because I took them near my husband's office, which is about 3 miles from our house. At our house, it was all rain, wet streets, grey gloom. But only a couple of miles away everything was ice and snow and white magic. I felt like a total geek out there on the edge of the Intel parking lot taking pictures of trees and snow, until I ran into an Intel employee doing the same exact thing! We're lucky if we get one good snow (good enough to stick for a day or two) around here each winter, so it always feels special when it happens.
