Issue 21 of Carousel is coming in June! If you haven't read this quirky journal, now's the time to check it out.
This issue includes my poem "A Folkshine Fable." Look for me as Anne Walters this time. I'm not sure whether that's a typo or maybe some Canadian spelling, but even with an 'e' on the end, it's still me.
It's been a great week here. I've been exercising and it feels good. It's so nice not to be sick for a change, to have energy, to be able to breathe without coughing.
Packages have been rolling in at a tremendous pace for Emma's birthday (tomorrow) and my birthday (a week from Tuesday), including my BIG present from my parents, which I'll reveal in another post.
I also received my second shipment from the Blue Moon Fiber Arts Rockin Sock Club and it is gorgeous! It's a brand-new yarn for them – an incredibly soft blend of wool and silk. It's so soft that I keep picking up the skein and rubbing it against my cheek. Yum!
For now, we're off to Emma's swimming lesson, then we'll pick up her birthday cake, and later this afternoon it's off to the mall for a Build A Bear Workshop with Emma's Girl Scout troop. Remember all those cookies she sold? The girls decided to spend their money on Build A Bear. They each get to make two - one for themselves and one to donate to the fire department for kids who are victims of fire or crime. More news later...
